The Origin of Pepper-Mint

A Swedish man by the name of Carl Linnaeus did a great favor to the world in 1753, when he discovered the peppermint plant, which is actually a hybrid plant despite his treating it like it was its own species. (Not that it makes it any less special.) But this page isn't here to tell you about a plant that flavors a certain delicious hard round candy. Instead, it is here to discuss the fact of two best friends who both discovered, 259 years after peppermint was, that the aforementioned candy is probably the best thing ever.
This is Carl Linnaeus (credit to the
artist, whoever they are). He looks
happy, so the portrait was definitely
painted after he discovered the
peppermint,
(Have you ever had a peppermint sucking contest? Or smashed them with a hammer and sprinkled them over pretzels dipped in chocolate? Or baked them into cookies? You're missing out.)
Anyhow, it's not about the candy either. Which is a pity, because there's a lot of amazing things one can do with peppermints.

This type of peppermint is actually Pepper-Mint. Which is me, Mint, and my best friend Pepper. We chose those names for a lot of reasons. First of all, she loves red and I love green. She's very exciting and I'm really lazy. Sometimes it's vice versa, but whatever. The end result when you put us together is a lot of random inside jokes, a lot of happiness, and endless possibilities! *cheesiness*

So yeah. Welcome to our blog, about our lives, because we really think they'd make a great movie someday. In case anyone's got a camera on hand. ;)
